The restoration of Muddy, the beloved Mudcat statue in Dunnville, has been a vibrant community effort spearheaded by the local Rotary Club of Dunnville. The Lions Club of Dunnville, and the Horticulture Club have also provided many volunteer hours to help out.  With the support of two beautification grants from the County, the project has not only focused on reviving Muddy himself but also enhancing the garden that surrounds him. This dual initiative reflects the community's commitment to preserving local heritage and beautifying public spaces.
A dedicated team of volunteers and paid laborers have been hard at work for five weeks now restoring Muddy to his original glory. The meticulous process has included extensive fiberglass repairs, ensuring the statue stands strong for years to come. Once the repairs are complete, Muddy will undergo a thorough pressure wash, followed by a fresh coat of paint, revitalizing his appearance. The excitement in the community is palpable as everyone eagerly awaits the completion of Muddy’s facelift!
