GREAT LAKES WATERSHED CLEAN-UP AT MYRNAM BEACH DUNNVILLE
On Saturday April 23rd in support of Earth Day and the Great Lakes Watershed Cleanup initiative, the Rotary Club of Dunnville organized the clean up of Myrnam Beach at the James N Allan Park.  A big clean up was completed by the club members and volunteers. Thank you!

'We had all kinds of help from 3 year olds, to grandkids, couples, seniors and puppies.  We collected over 40 large bags of debris and a pile of large items that would not fit in bags.  Garbage was collected from the beach and wooded area behind.  Conservatively, over 1,000 pounds was collected during the cleanup.
It was a great way for our members and community to support the environment. After collecting beach debris for two hours, we enjoyed pizza and pop.  Prizes were awarded for the group who collected the most, (19 bags were collected by one group), the most unusual item found (a pylon “IN” the lake) and the grossest item found (dirty diapers).
We had great support from Ryan Adam, Assistant Superintendant, Rock Point Provincial Park and it is certainly an event we will do again.
